Importance of Women Education:
Islam, among all the religions,
has the distinction of attributing a just status to women in the society,
befitting to their nature and capabilities bestowed upon them by the creator. A
neglected lot, prior to Islam, was given due importance, rights and
responsiblities so that they could contribute towards bringing up, educating
and training human generations and thus building up a healthy and peaceful
society. That is why, right from the outset of emergence of Islam, due
attention was paid towards the education of women. For example, the only virgin
lady married by the Rasool S.A.W., i.e. Hazrat Aisha R.A., was an extra
ordinary brilliant young lady with remarkable memory. She was educated and
trained by the Rasool S.A.W. and it is quoted from him that half of the entire
knowledge was possesed by her and the rest was shared by others. It is also
reported that she ran a Madrasah in her home where she herself was teaching and
training girls and young children.

Streams of Education:
In the present age, for boys as
well as girls, there are mainly two streams of education, viz. modern education
and religions education. The former aims at the achievements in this world,
whereas the latter, in a nutshell, has the following philosophies behind it.
“Our Creator and Lord has loaned this life to us for preparation for the
eternal life after death. In case our education is compatible with this
purpose, it is beneficial, otherwise a mere loss.”
Aligarh in India, is a place
internationally known for worldly education, for boys as well as for girls.
Besided the famous Aligarh Muslim University, numerous other schools and
colleges exist here, which provide avenues for obtaining worldly education.
However, it was felt since quite sometime, particularly by religious minded
persons in Aligarh that an institution exclusively for girls was badly needed,
which could ensue religious education and training observing true Islamic
spirit. Moreover, keeping in mind the present day religious demand for
communication and propagation of Islam, appropriate command on Arabic, Persian
and English languages might also be acquired.
Top
Foundation of the Madrasah:
Consequent upon the above
thinking, the Islamul Haque Madrasatul Banat was founded in January 2005. It
had the humble starting with a handful of religious minded educated ladies with
a voluntary zeal. They took up the teaching responsiblities with the motto
“Religious education in religious environment”.
By the Grace of Allah S.W.T., the
immediate need of a land with some built up area was fulfilled by the donation
of his property by Dr. Ansarul Haque Ansari (s/o Late Dr. Islamul Haque Ansari,
Ex-Principal. A.K. Tibbiya College, A. M. U. Aligarh) to the close by
Masjid-e-Anwar, Sir Syed Nagar and the committee of Masjid consequently
deciding to establish the said Madrasah on the property.
Total land of the property is
around 1700 sq. yards.
Top
Aims and Objectives:
The aims and objectives of the
Madrasah are to educate and train muslim girls, so that
- They may acquire the correct Islamic Faith and Deeds.
- Develop a concern for the betterment of humanity in
general and muslims in particular.
- Develop awareness for the love and fear of Almighty
and the life hereafter.
- Inculcate the spirit an zeal to adopt and promote the
message and ways of the Rasool S.A.W.
- Develop the capability to tutor the children in the
family and around at least upto the primary standard of the prevelant
modern education.
- Acquire the knowledge of Islamic Theology in various
fields like Islamic History, Translation and Tafseer of the Holy Quran,
Hadeeth, Islamic Jurisprudence and its principles, etc.
- Learn Arabic, Persian and English languages in order
to effectively interact with ladies speaking these languages.
Top
Educational Structure in the
Madrasah:
- Initial six years primary education starting at the
age of Five plus. Emphasis is laid on learning the recitation of the
complete Holy Quran with Tajweed and memorizing a portion of it. In
addition to this, learning Urdu, Hindi, English and Arabic languages and
other prevelant subjects of schooling like Mathematics, Science, Social
Science, Home Science and Geography etc.
The medium is
the mother tongue of the region i.e. Urdu, obviously to avoid overburdening the
tender minds.
- The six year primary education is followed by five
years Alimiyat course. Learning of Arabic and Persian is inbuilt in the
curruculum of Alimiyat. Moreover, learning of English also continues upto
the pre-final year.
- It is ensured that while working as teachers in the
Madrasah, the ladies are not physically overburdened or completely
detached from their household responsibilites. As such, they are not
engaged for the entire working hours, rather particularly only, according
to their convenience.
- It is strictly observed that the teachers are ladies
with religious bend of mind ans style of living.
- When inevitable, some gent Ulemas are requested to
teach from outside through intercom system.
- Direct admission to the course of Alimiyat is also
permitted for girls who had education in other schools, in case they
qualify an entrance test.

Syllabi:
The present syllabi contents are
give below. Anyway, two points may be kept in mind.
(i)
The quantum of knowledge imparted to the girls cannot
be at par with boys because the girls soon get engaged with domestic
responsibilities.
(ii)
A periodic assessment of the content of syllabi is a
continuing process and consequently the changes.

Financial Aspects:
The expenses of the Madrasah are
met from the contribution made by well wishers.
A nominal fee is charged from
students as per schedule given below. This is charged mainly to create
seriousness among them and their parents/gudardians. However, it cannot be
enhanced because so far the girls attracted by the Madrasah belong to the
economically lower or lower-middle class of the society (as is always the case
with all religious movements).
(i)
One time registration fees = Rs. 100/-
(ii)
Monthly Fees
Primary I to IV = Rs. 50/-
Primary V to
Alimiyat V = Rs. 75/-
The text books with lower prices
i.e. upto Rs. 50/- are purchased by a well wisher on whole sale basis and then
supplied to the students on no loss no gain basis. Costlier books are purchased
by the Madrasah, kept in its library and issued on loan to the students and
collected back at the end of the session.
